Terms of Service

By accessing or using PennyTracker (“the Service”), you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

PennyTracker is a personal finance tracking application that allows users to record expenses, manage categories and budgets, and view spending reports. The Service is currently provided free of charge (“Free Tier”).

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

To use PennyTracker, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised it.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel accounts at our discretion.

You agree to use PennyTracker only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from the Service.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any other malicious code.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

The Free Tier provides access to all current features of PennyTracker at no cost. We make no guarantees about the continued availability of free access. We may, in the future, introduce limitations on the Free Tier or require payment for certain features.

We will provide reasonable advance notice to existing users before making any changes that restrict access previously available for free.

We intend to introduce optional paid subscription tiers in the future, offering additional features beyond the Free Tier. Paid plans will be entirely optional — the Free Tier will remain available.

Details of paid plans, including pricing, features, and billing terms, will be communicated prior to their launch. Additional payment-specific terms will apply to paid subscriptions and will be presented to you before you commit to a paid plan.

When paid plans are introduced, the following general terms will apply unless stated otherwise:

• Subscriptions will renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
• Refund policies will be specified at the time paid plans are launched.

All financial data you enter into PennyTracker belongs to you. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. PennyTracker is a personal record-keeping tool, not a financial advisory service. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

The PennyTracker application, including its design, code, branding, and content (other than your personal data), is the intellectual property of [Your Name] and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.

Your use of PennyTracker is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any information provided through the Service.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL PENNYTRACKER OR TAPLINE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $10.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through Settings → Danger Zone. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, without prior notice and without liability to you.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply after termination.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in a manner that is fair and reasonable given the circumstances.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Changes take effect 30 days after posting, except for changes required by law which take effect immediately. Your continued use of the Service after that 30-day period constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
